INSPIRATIONS

• Science Fiction - I like the genre how I like my orange juice, both Classic and EXTRA PULPY

• Any “wave” type of music - Vaporwave, Retrowave, Synthwave, Microwave…wait…

• Video Games

• Nature - especially as narrated by David Attenborough

MEDIUMS

DIGITAL: Both Illustrator and Photoshop since each program provides different benefits. The former is great for setting up flat colors and general shapes, the latter has tools better suited for applying textures and details.

TRADITIONAL: When inking, the tools that end up being used the most are Microns, brush pens, and ink washes. As for painting, oils and gouache are two go-tos, but a new favorite of mine are acrylic paint markers like POSCA.

PROCESS

Brainstorming starts off with lots of frenzied pencil sketches until I decide on a tight composition. Once that is done, I scan the art and work on top of it digitally until I no longer need the sketch.
